Quality dance training and added performance opportunities for dancers.
Parish Ballet Company
PBC is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization committed to nurturing the dance community by providing professional level dance training and added performance opportunities for our area’s dancers. We strive to build well-rounded dance artists while instilling in them a love of dance, self-confidence, discipline, and respect for the performing arts. We advocate the study of Classical Ballet as a foundation to instill an awareness for all other techniques and genres. We will develop well-prepared dancers, should they choose to pursue the arts professionally, collegiately, or recreationally.

PBC
Parish Ballet Company was founded in 2020 but the idea for this company dates years back. Mrs. Rebecka Gwin reached her first goal of opening a dance studio in Richland Parish in 2010 named A Time To Dance. The studio quickly grew and expanded to its second location in West Carroll Parish. While owning, instructing, and operating her own studio was a dream come true, she always knew that there was one more thing to accomplish for the arts in her area. The thought of starting a pre-professional ballet company was a dream that had been brewing throughout her career.
Rebecka was a member of both Twin City Ballet and Louisiana Delta Ballet during her performing career. She saw first hand how her life was enriched with opportunities afforded to her because of these companies. She wants to allow dancers from her hometown and surrounding areas to be able to have the same wonderful opportunities.
As ATTD grew so did the talent of the dancers with most expressing interest in joining a company. Rebecka pushed her dancers to the companies located in Monroe, but realized many of her dancers and their families couldn't dedicate their extra time to traveling out of town each weekend for rehearsal leaving many dancers without a company opportunity.
As the staff of ATTD discussed this problem, we realized that we can do this for dancers from our areas right here and now! Luckily, our very qualified staff was on board and excited. Sevanna Oliver, who is an ATTD alumnus, danced and performed in UL Lafayette Dance Company, and Lafayette Ballet Theatre was a major part of the driving force to get this company up and running. She saw first hand the need for PBC in our area. She has our area dancer's best interest at heart. After many long discussions with Rebecka and months of hard work, Parish Ballet Company has been born! We are pleased to bring more arts training and dance recognition to our areas.
